After having lived life under COVID-19 restrictions for nearly one year, your daily routine might still feel odd at times. You may be working from home, ordering delivery for everything, and helping your kids with virtual learning — yet also going out with friends (while staying socially distant) from time to time. This odd combination of staying at home for long periods of time — and then deciding to go out — is unlike anything you have experienced. 

If you are like many, you’ve become a bit more relaxed with your beauty and self-care routine during the long stretches of time spent at home. While doing this every so often can be helpful and timesaving, it can eventually cause you to feel less than your best. Thankfully, there are some great tips you can start using right away to break this cycle. 1.Take care of your hair every single day.

If you are a busy professional, parent, student, or all three, you know what it is like to not have time to do your hair 100% of the time. If you are still staying at home more often than you used to, it seems like there is even less of a reason to care for your hair. But to look and feel amazing, it is time to start investing in yourself again!

How many days in a row have you gone without putting on any makeup? Following your makeup routine as if you were going out can also put you in a more focused mindset, which is super helpful for the days you need an extra boost.

Do not wait to go out to put on makeup, do it for yourself if you feel incline to do so. If you want to try a new look or simply do your normal thing, do it! Whether seeing people or not, you should decide if you want to wear makeup just for the fun of it. Wearing makeup is a fun way to bring a little color into your day.

 

3. Nourish your body.

Looking and feeling your best isn’t solely about outward appearances. In addition to doing things that make you happy externally, nourishing your body on the inside is also important. If all you ever eat is junk food, you’ll never feel 100 percent. Make a commitment to feeding your body the healthiest foods that you can. Fill up your plate with your favorite fruits, vegetables, and grains. Also, consider taking supplements, including a top-quality multivitamin.

 

4. Wear comfy + stylish clothes that you love.

Finally, give yourself permission to refresh your wardrobe. Chances are you have not bought nearly as many clothing items over the last year as you normally would. Since you are still spending more time at home, consider pieces that are both comfy and stylish. Treat yourself to everything from new t-shirts to bottoms to shoes. Upgrade your wardrobe even further by buying new pairs of underwear. Aim to purchase affordable underwear that maximizes comfort naturally by conforming to your body.

 

5. Find something you enjoy

One good way to take care of yourself is to find a hobby or activity that you genuinely enjoy — and then set aside time to do it as often as your schedule allows. Do you enjoy painting? Watch some YouTube videos to work on your craft. Have you thought about going back to school to further your education and receive your MBA? Online schools can help you pursue this dream within the constraints of your current schedule. At the end of the day, it’s up to you to find what makes you happy, so take a moment to figure this out.
